Laws are legal documents setting forth rules governing a particular kind of activity. However, laws are not hard and absolute. There are some unfair laws as we know the people have broken that in order to stand for justice and make country peaceful. This book is two plays by Sophocles. It is tell us no matter how the times change, our fate will never change. And Antigone broke the nomos. Antigone, in Sophocles play, is brave and just when she broke Creon’s law. She proves she is right. She opposes unfair laws.
Antigone demonstrates that breaking the law is the right action when she said person have personal morality. Haemon said: “some men think differently, I need to tell you what they are saying. They feel sorry for this girl. They say: she should not die this cruel death! They say: her deed was noble, full of honor, because she honored her brother.” (p.72) So that means the people all think Antigone is right and they are all hope to break the unfair laws. But they are afraid of the Creon. They just can support Antigone dumbly. Antigone is just represent justice and peaceful. She is a significant person for the community. Furthermore, people were afraid of getting punishment if they break the laws. Because Creon is strict and powerful, and angry. His soldiers are afraid of getting punished by him. Like Sentry said: “I cannot say it. I am too frightened. I did not do it! I swear! I did not see anyone! Don’t punish me. I am only a messenger.” (p.55)That shows us in fact they agreed about Antigone, but them afraid of Creon. They also support Antigone to break the laws.

There are many people who follow the laws in modern times, although they disagree with the laws. That is wrong. There are many examples to show us we should break the unfair laws. In Ancient China Chinese constitute procession to oppose Chinese government many times. People did not allow the laws, because they were unsatisfied with those laws. Martin Luther King, who was a great leader of civil rights said: “We will not resort to violence. We will not degrade ourselves with hatred. Love will not be returned with hate”. It is clear that if we want the country peaceful, we must sometimes break the law.
